Modern psychiatry’s biomedical orientation is driven by brain research, but also by psychiatry’s longstanding insecurities. We long to be accepted as “real doctors”, but have never been able to establish mastery in our chosen field. I explore this problem in depth, reviewing the factors that contribute to our chronic professional insecurity.
Modern psychiatry is based on bad science. But in order to recognize this, you first have to understand what GOOD science is. It’s really not that complicated. So in this video I review the scientific method–the ultimate bullshit detector–and examine how modern psychiatry fails the test.
I can’t prove a thing, of course. But in this video, I offer a perfectly reasonable hypothesis for the physiological nature of thought–which is a damn sight more than psychiatry has EVER done! That’s probably because it completely undermines the scientific credibility of psychiatry’s reductionist treatment model…which means no pharmaceutical products to market!
Serotonin is NOT what psychiatry says it is…and I’ve got the research citation to prove it. Once you’ve found out what it is, you’ll have a good understanding why it does what it does. You’ll also realize that psychiatry and its Big Pharma sponsors have been playing dumb for the past 35 years.
